Nutrition & Diet

The LifeCo’s 12 years of experience in developing and applying the most effective, cleansing diets and meal plans, and the ever-updated research and development on new types of cancer diets and the fundamental needs of a cancer patient from a diet, have helped us acquire maximum results from our diets and nutritional programs. The meal and nutrition plan includes several different types of dietary cleansing from ‘master detox’ to juice fasting to water fasting as well as specific diets designed to supply the necessary nutrients for building new, healthy cells while starving cancer cells. These diets vary from a broad raw, vegan diet to a raw vegan ketogenic diet which is very low in carbohydrate and sugar intake and high in essential fats as avocadoes, olive and coconut oils, nuts, sprouts and seeds. Depending on one’s needs and responsiveness to the treatment, we occasionally may use cooked food (fish, quinoa etc.) as well.

Apart from the meals and juices, we also nourish our patients with several organic supplements as kelp&nettle, probiotics, enzymes, vitminco. The supplements that we use very specifically either target cancer, enhance immunity or block hormones.

Raw Vegan Kitchen

The LifeCo’s meals and juices are completely vegan and uncooked. The whole foods and raw diet help patients to get higher and denser nutrition, higher oxygenation of the bloodstream and easy digestive process. In some exceptional cases, we use cooked food for our patients from time to time.

Master Detox Program

This program is a juicing plan where the juices are made of vegetables and very few fruits with low glycemic index. The master detox program at The LifeCo Integrative Oncology & Well-Being center aims to provide the most effective and deep cleansing results by flooding the body in nutrition and alkalinity.

Raw Vegan Ketogenic Program

The LifeCo is one of the world’s first institutions that used the raw-vegan ketogenic diet for therapeutic purposes. The vast majority of the ketogenic diets consists of large meat and dairy consumption which has many side effects and collateral damages to our health. The LifeCo has been using Raw vegan ketogenic diet for disease management in its centers since 2005 and uses a modified ketogenic program for cancer patients only in the Integrative Oncology & Well-Being center in Phuket.

Water Fasting

One of nature’s most effective and prominent remedies that have been used by animals and humans is fasting. When we fast, the body stops working on many Daily activities and focuses on the healing and repairment of broken and deteriorated parts of the entire system. Thus, water fasting is an almost always used to diet for couple days or weeks for Cancer patients, in order to promote ultimate detoxification and self-healing process.

How big is diet’s role in the treatment journey?

Diet is one of the most important aspects of the integrative cancer treatment programs. Through the application of a raw vegan ketogenic, alkalizing, high fat, low sugar and low carb diet, the patient will convert to a state of ketosis where the healing activities will be accelerated, and the cancer cells will be starved due to lack of glucose in the system. Every patient will also be going through the master detox program which is a juice-only deep cleansing program with vegetable juices prepared with psyllium husk and bentonite clay. In most of the cases, we also put patients in a water fasting diet for them to get rid of all the toxins and help the liver and digestive system replenish faster.

What is the diet like for a cancer patient?

Once the patient’s body is cleansed through a deep cleansing program applied in the first 10-15 days, the role of diet increases as we begin to apply the raw vegan ketogenic diet for a few weeks. Ketogenic diet –in oppose to the widely known dairy ketogenic diet- is a plant-based diet that increases fat consumption, eliminates sugar consumption and minimizes carbohydrate intake, in order to change the body to the state of ‘ketosis’ for therapeutic results. Meals consist of high-fat ingredients as nuts, nut butter, vegetables, sprouts, seeds, and cold-pressed plant oils. Depending on the patient’s progress and additional nutritional requirements, use of cooked ingredients as fish, eggs, and quinoa are integrated into the diet as well.

Do I have to stick to the diet during my treatment?

Since diet is a tool and method for healing an individual, the frequency, ingredients, amounts of the daily meals/juices are parallel to the treatment plan and is monitored and prepared by the doctor and chef every week.
