Metabolic Treatments

Metabolic therapies include natural, botanically based substances that target cancer based upon cancer cells’ metabolic (enzymatic) limitations. Hence, the cancer cells die while the healthy cells are either completely unaffected or enhanced. These are all intravenous therapies and are well known in alternative / integrative circles.

IPT, or low dose, targeted chemotherapy is necessary for some people and is used in conjunction with the metabolic therapies in order to overwhelm the cancer cells’ enhanced ability to develop resistance.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C acts as a pro-oxidant in high concentration, and some hydrogen peroxide is formed which is rapidly disposed of by catalase in a normal cell. Since cancer cells have a deficiency or lack entirely of catalase the peroxides kill the cancer cell.

Artesunate

The mechanism of action for artesunate in the context of cancer therapy is very well defined. Cancer cells have a tendency to absorb iron at high levels and this is thought to accelerate the mutation rate within these cells. Iron reacts with oxygen to form free radicals, which are reactive molecules that damage DNA. Artesunate activates mitochondrial apoptosis by iron catalyzed lysosomal reactive oxygen species production. Artesunate use the iron within the cancer cells against them.

Glutathione

Glutathione is a very powerful antioxidant that protects the body by targeting and destroying reactive oxygen molecules and free radicals. It neutralizes harmful free radicals, flushes away toxins, supports cell health and integrity, has a big role in DNA and protein synthesis. It is administered intravenously and it can be used as a lifetime supplement. It has an initial loading dose of 6 sessions. Can be done either twice or three times a week. After the 6 sessions can be continued once a month.

Ozone Therapy (MAH)

Curcumin

Curcumin (Curcuma longa) has as its main therapeutic substance, diferuloyl methane. Curcumin is derived from turmeric, a plant that belongs to the ginger family. Both laboratory as well as epidemiological studies has shown that curcumin has a multitude of anticancer effects.
Turmeric is a spice that is grown in many Asian countries and is also known as Indian saffron, jiang huang, haridra and haldi. The main culinary product is curcumin powder, which has been used not only as a food condiment in Asian cuisine but also in all of the traditional medical disciplines throughout the world, including Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
Research has been able to show that there are quite low rates of cancer in countries where people regularly eat 100mg to 200mg a day over long periods of time.
Over 2,000 published studies have shown curcumin is effective against cancers of the breast, prostate, liver, colon, lung, pancreas and more. Many of these studies have shown curcumin actually stops cancer cells from dividing, causes them to “commit suicide”, prevents spread (metastases) and stops them from forming in the first place.
And, the beauty of this substance is that curcumin has the ability to target cancer cells while leaving healthy cells unharmed, and is even protective.]. This is in broad contrast to chemotherapy, which destroys all cells, healthy and cancer cells.

Curcumin Targets Cancer in Multiple Ways

Curcumin changes both gene activity and expression and thereby not only destroys cancer cells but it promotes healthy cell function. In addition, it has anti-angiogenic properties, which prevent new blood vessels from forming so that the cancer cells cannot grow or spread.
Curcumin affects over 100 molecular pathways once it gets into the cell resulting in the following:
Stops the growth and spread of tumor cells
Stops healthy cells from becoming cancer cells Able to stop mutated cells so that they cannot spread.
Decreases inflammation, which is how cancer stem cells spread and set up “camp”
Blocks the proteins necessary to form tumors.
Stops new blood vessels from forming

Why Whole Turmeric Is Ineffective

There is only a small amount of curcumin in whole turmeric, hence not enough to achieve anticancer results, The turmeric root itself contains 3% curcumin.
Curcumin is very poorly absorbed into the blood stream from the gastrointestinal tract…only about 1% of what is ingested is actually absorbed.
So, clearly it is impossible to achieve enough tissue penetration using whole turmeric, hence curcumin should be used in cuisine and in medical interventions.
